There is no question that following through on duties when we don't "feel like it" can be grace-empowered. They key for me is how do you feel about it AFTER you've done it? If you feel resentful and put-upon, then likely it was not grace-based. If you feel good about having done it, praise God for what He has enabled you to do.

Tom, you make a great point, THE great point I suppose about grace and duty not being either/or choices. I find myself definitely seeing duty and feeling obligation to fulfill that duty. Sometimes I know it will be difficult to follow through. Many times I truly delight in being obedient to the Lord (if I know my own heart which is questionable anyway!) but other times that delight is not there. I think that grace even empowers the times we don't necessarily delight in doing what we know is the right thing, nevertheless chose it anyway. What do you think?
